Democrats of Thornton Township

Napoleon B. Harris, III

THORNTON TOWNSHIP DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEEMAN

I am running for Thornton Township Supervisor because I know I can provide the resources and services that are needed by the residents of Thornton Township.

My tenure as State Senator has provided me with the unique opportunity to understand the needs of the residents in Thornton Township and the ability to meet to provide the resources to meet their needs.

As a business owner, I understand the importance of budgeting and managing personnel to meet the needs of those we serve.

It is important for the Township to have a supervisor who has a proven track record in business, government and leadership.

I know that by working together we can have a Township we will be proud to call home.

TOP THREE PRIORITIES

1. Deliver More Resources for Seniors and Youth

As State Senator, I’ve fought to secure funding for programs that support our most vulnerable.

As Township Supervisor, I will:

• Expand senior services, including wellness programs, social programs, transportation, and home assistance to programs to enable seniors to stay in their homes in a safe environment.

• Increase funding for youth employment, mentorship and after school programs. I am committed to providing the resources needed to keep our youth safe and to help them build the foundation needed for future success.

2. Bring More State Funding to Thornton Township

My experience in legislature has provided me with the opportunity to understand the importance of funding for municipalities and townships. I also know the process that will enable me to bring more state dollars back to my district.

As Township Supervisor, I will:

• Secure more state funding for essential services like housing, healthcare, community improvement, and small business development.

• Strengthening township programs by leveraging state resources to reduce local tax burdens while improving services.

3. Transparent and Accountable Leadership

Effective leadership requires transparency and accountability. I will communicate openly, provide clear information to township residents, and take responsibility for my actions and decisions.

I’ve worked at the state level to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely. As Township Supervisor, I will:

• Ensure townships funds are used efficiently and transparently by putting the needs of residents first.

• Promote open communication and accessibility, so every resident has a voice in the township government.

NAPO
  • Local Leaders Make Local Decisions: Your vote directly impacts who will oversee critical services like schools, roads, public safety, and community programs in Thornton Township. These decisions affect your daily life far more than national politics.

  • Control Over Township Funds & Resources: The elected officials in Thornton Township decide how taxpayer money is spent. Your vote ensures that funds go toward programs that truly benefit the community, such as senior services, youth programs, and public safety.

  • Stop Political Dysfunction: Local elections determine who leads the township. If you’re tired of political fighting, dishonesty, or mismanagement, voting is the only way to hold officials accountable and bring in leadership that prioritizes real solutions.

  • Low Turnout Means Your Vote Carries More Weight: Local elections historically have low voter turnout. This means your vote is even more powerful in deciding who represents you. A few votes can make the difference between progress and stagnation.

  • Township Policies Directly Affect Your Property & Taxes: If you live in Thornton Township, policies on property taxes, business regulations, and community development directly impact your finances. The wrong leadership can cost residents more money in unnecessary fees and mismanagement.

  • Representation Matters: The people elected tomorrow will make crucial decisions for your community. If you don’t vote, you allow others to choose for you; often those who may not have your best interests at heart.

  • If You Don’t Vote, You Can’t Complain: Many people are frustrated with local politics, but change doesn’t happen without action. Your vote is your voice; use it to demand better leadership, accountability, and a township that works for you.
